Dal 18 al 21 Giugno si è svolto a Milano, presso il Centro Sportivo Vismara la prima edizione del Torneo Internazionale Milan Friendship Cup, unico torneo di calcio al mondo organizzato da un club professionista

Dal 18 al 21 Giugno si è svolto a Milano, presso il Centro Sportivo Vismara, la prima edizione del Torneo Internazionale Milan Friendship Cup, unico torneo di calcio al mondo organizzato da un club professionista.

A questa iniziativa – che si sviluppa nell’ambito del progetto Milan Academy – hanno partecipato circa 300 bambini di età compresa tra gli 8 e i 13 anni provenienti dalle società che hanno una relazione con il Milan, ovvero le Scuole Calcio Internazionali e quelle italiane.

I paesi rappresentati, oltre all’Italia, sono stati Canada, USA, Messico, Costarica, Egitto e Australia. Tra le squadre partecipanti sono state creati alcuni team misti, composti cioè da ragazzi stranieri e ragazzi italiani, favorendo così il senso di integrazione che la manifestazione ha voluto offrire.

“Si tratta di un evento molto importante per la nostra Società, che da oltre dieci anni è impegnata nello sviluppo di attività sportive ed eventi di intrattenimento per i ragazzi. Nel 2008 il Milan sarà presente con i propri colori in oltre 40 Paesi del mondo.” – Ha commentato il vice presidente vicario e amministratore delegato, Adriano Galliani – “In particolare con la Milan Friendship Cup vogliamo offrire un momento di sport, incontro e confronto tra giovani di diverse nazionalità tutti accomunati dalla passione per i colori rossoneri.”

Tutte le 25 squadre presenti alla manifestazione sono state premiate con una targa celebrativa del torneo e con premi e medaglie per ogni partecipante.

Dalla prossima edizione , che si terrà nel mese di giugno 2009, il club rossonero desidera dare a questo evento maggiore importanza e visibilità, come spiega Galliani: “Ci impegneremo per far sì che questo torneo diventi nei prossimi anni un appuntamento ricorrente e un punto di riferimento per i tanti allenatori e calciatori che vivono quotidianamente la propria passione per il gioco del calcio.”

 

La Milan Friendship Cup è stata precedunta da un altro importante evento organizzato dalla Milan Academy in collaborazione con il Settore Giovanile: il primo Clinic delle Scuole Calcio Internazionali.

Per tre giorni, dal 13 al 15 giugno, 24 ragazzi di età compresa tra i 10 e i 13 anni e provenienti da Australia, Canada, Egitto, Messico, Siria e USA sono stati allenati e valutati dai tecnici del Settore Giovanile sotto l’attenta supervisione del responsabile dello scouting per l’attività di base, Mauro Bianchessi.

I ragazzi si sono poi fermati a Milano per partecipare al torneo.

From 18th to 21st June the first edition of the International tournament AC Milan Friendship Cup, took place at Vismara Sports Center, the only football tournament in the world organized by a professional football club.

The tournament – developed within the AC Milan Academy project – saw the participation of about 300 kids aged from 8 to 13 years coming from clubs related to Milan belonging to international and Italian football academies.

The represented countries, in addition to Italy were: Canada, USA, Mexico, Costa Rica, Egypt and Australia. Mixed teams were set up from the participating teams, composed of foreign and Italian youngsters with the purpose of promoting integration as one of the ultimate goals of the competition.

“It is a very important event for our Club that has been engaged for over ten years in the development of sports activities and entertainment events for young people. In 2008 AC Milan will be present with its club colours in over 40 Countries in the world.” – commented the Vicarious Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Adriano Galliani – “In particular with AC Milan Friendship Cup we want to offer an opportunity of sport, meeting and confrontation among youngsters of various nationalities, all of them sharing a common passion for rossoneri colours.”

All the 25 participating teams received a commemorative tournament plaque and prizes and medals were awarded to all individual participants.

Starting from next edition that will take place in June 2009, AC Milan wishes to give this event greater importance and visibility, as Galliani explained: “We will commit ourselves to make this tournament a regular appointment and reference event for many coaches and players who daily live their passion for the game of football.”

 

AC Milan Friendship Cup was preceded by another important event organized by AC Milan Academy in collaboration with the Youth Sector: the first Clinic of International Football Academies.

For three days, from 13th to 15th of June, 24 kids aged from 10 to 13 years coming from Australia, Canada, Egypt, Mexico, Syria and USA were coached and assessed by coaches from the Youth Sector under the supervision of the responsible for scouting new young talents in basic activities, Mauro Bianchessi.

The kids then remained in Milan to participate in the tournament.
